Q&A tonight (30 Jan)! Tay Valley Talk - Victims of the Tay Railway Bridge Disaster

15 January 2023

This Tay Valley Talk is on Youtube, with Q&A session on Monday 30th January, at 8.00 p.m. (20.00 hours) UK time. This talk is by Murray Nicoll, on the Victims of the Tay Railway Bridge Disaster on Sunday 28th December 1879. Fifty-nine people lost their lives when the first Railway Bridge over the Tay collapsed.   The video is at https://youtu.be/dTQUDeDIXFA and in it Murray tells stories of some of the victims - there is much more in the book he wrote with Clare Nicoll and Grant Buttars, which is available from Tay Valley Family History Society (see our Books on this website). This talk is copyright © Murray Nicoll.

Q&A with Murray - TVFHS members only - is on Monday 30th January, 8.00 p.m. UK time. We have the link ready to send out to people. The video was recorded in the Tay Valley Family History Society library. To join the Q&A, you should contact our 'talks' address (talks@tayvalleyfhs.org.uk) giving your membership number (or if you're a very recent member, your joining date). Q&A will be strictly about the victims (not about the engineering etc!)
