Remembering the Accused Witches of Scotland (RAWS) is proud to announce it’s upcoming one day conference “Forgotten Voices of the Accused”, expanding on a series of online and in person events, talks, workshops and exhibitions held across the country.
RAWS is a grassroot charity led by passionate volunteers and amateur historians dedicated to uncovering the truth behind one of Scotland’s darkest historical chapters, exploring the overlooked and often misunderstood stories of those persecuted during Scotland’s Early Modern witchcraft trials.
RAWS works to honour the memory of the accused and advocates for the creation of a national memorial.
Whether you are a scholar, student, or simply curious about Scottish history, women’s rights, or the legacy of crime and punishment, this conference offers a compelling opportunity to engage with the past and help shape how we remember it.
In addition to sharing the research of RAWS members, the conference welcomes a series of external speakers from across the field of research in this turbulent era of Scotland’s history.
