Carmyllie Heritage Society is about to publish a book entitled Carmyllie Its Land and People. Its launch takes place on Monday, 2 December 2013, between 4 pm and 6 pm, at The Corn Kist Coffee Shop, Milton Haugh Farm, Carmyllie.

Carmyllie Its Land and People will sell at £10.00.

The Heritage Society is also setting up a website - www.carmyllieheritage.co.uk - which is well worth a visit.

THE VIEW: of land and sea is the December Open Weekend at Hospitalfield House from  6th to 8th December.

For THE VIEW, Hospitalfield House will be hosting the Travelling Gallery and the current exhibition THIS LAND. THIS LAND presents a beautifully alternative view of the Scottish landscape, inspired by the Year of Natural Scotland, through works by artists with a diverse range of practices. The Travelling Gallery is a custom-built, mobile, contemporary art space inside a bus which will be parked on one of Hospitalfield’s fields with a view across the sea.

For the opening of THE VIEW on Friday 6 December at 7pm, Andy Holden will perform Seven Works in Time, a series of musical works written and performed by Holden with a string quartet.  The performance is free but booking is essential.

On 7 December there will be the book launch of Curious Arts No.6 by Susan Brind & Jim Harold, with commissioned performances taking place throughout the day.

There are full details on the Hospitalfield House website.
