Corona Virus Precautions
We at Tay Valley Family History Society wish to ensure that all our Volunteers, Members and visitors are protected as far as possible from the Corona Virus.
Previously issued guidelines on hand washing and thorough cleaning of keyboards and work surfaces, so far that has been in the main adhered to.
Government and NHS information indicates that the worst is yet to come, with ongoing recommendations being issued almost daily.
The identified high risk people are at present the over 70’s, which you will agree covers most of our Volunteers and visitors.
To this end, reluctantly the Council have decided to minimise the risk and protect you all by agreeing to close the Research centre from Saturday 21 March until further notice.
The Closure will be reviewed on a two weekly basis until it is deemed acceptable to re-open and hopefully this will be a short term measure.
I hope that you understand that this decision was not taken lightly but was considered necessary.
I will endeavour to keep you up to date with this issue but should you wish any further information please contact me.
Regards
Angus Gellatly
Members contacting the Centre
Members, various tasks such as website maintenance, membership, bookshop, research, etc. are dealt with by different members of staff who are not in the centre everyday, so when contacting the centre for any reason, be it for website entry passwords, research info, etc, please be patient. Please remember that the centre is run by volunteers in their own time.
